The crazy, loner, brilliant, and sometimes absurd “Mad
Scientist” archetype sure has come a long ways since their heyday in the old
black and white horror movies. Actually they haven’t! They still commit
outlandish acts that only they understand, they still perform unnatural
experiments on people, and some still employ an assistant or two to help them
with their schemes. I’m going to take this opportunity and explore some of the
recent additions to this sub-genre. But before I do, I will begin with one of
the most famous Mad Scientists to ever grace the silver screen, Henry from the
original Universal Pictures film “Frankenstein”!
